Motorcycle Accident Statistics
There are multiple valuable resources for motorcycle accident statistics both throughout the U.S. and in Massachusetts in particular. Following are some statistics that Boston personal injury lawyer Brian Bagby has compiled regarding motorcycle accidents, injuries and more.
National Motorcycle Accident Statistics:

- There were 103,000 motorcyclist injuries in the U.S. in 2007, an increase of 15,000 from the previous year.
- Per vehicle mile travelled, it is estimated that a motorcycle rider is 35 times more likely to lose his or her life in a traffic accident than the occupants of a passenger vehicle.
- While motorcycles comprise only approximately 3% of all registered vehicles in the U.S., motorcyclists accounted for 13% of all traffic fatalities.
